Wedding Photography

March 3, 2023

We’ve been a destination wedding photographer in Europe for years now and we can safely say that the star attraction of any wedding is, of course, the dress. As unique as each bride, a wedding dress encompasses all the bride’s wishes for her wedding and we’ve seen it all. We’ve been dazzled in bedazzles. We’ve been all about that lace. We’ve dipped and plunged and we’ve pleaded for pleats. We’ve sparkled in crystals but we can never get enough of wedding dresses! So, to help all brides to be out there, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite wedding dresses we’ve had the pleasure of photographing! Also, we’ve poured some wedding dress tips, tricks, and information we’ve gathered from our years as a wedding photographer in Europe and after our conversation with countless wedding stylists and designers!

The first thing to do after getting engaged is to start looking for a gown. It’s important to try on a variety of shapes and textures since most people don’t get to wear gowns like these on the regular! Once you have your shape, the journey gets easier and you can focus on that specific silhouette. We will be showing you a variety of dresses we’ve loved and hopefully, that will help you with your wedding dress journey!

Maria’s Luxurious Wedding Gown For Her Destination Wedding in Chios

A true “princess” dress by Reem Acra, a renowned international designer known for her breathtaking collections in Ready-to-Wear and Bridal. She combines tradition with a modern aesthetic and leads the way by continuously redefining the boundaries of fashion. Perfect for her evening nuptials, this wedding dress added an ethereal touch to Maria’s silhouette and was the perfect choice for her grand Chios affair! A traditional choice, this long wedding gown ensured a flawless look on her wedding while allowing for originality. This length combined with long sleeves made this wedding dress the ideal piece for a luxurious wedding! Feeling inspired? Take a look at the complete gallery of this destination wedding in Chios!

With elegant lace and a cathedral veil, Maria was really a vision for sore eyes on her wedding day! For our soon-to-be brides, this is definitely a dress to consider if you’re planning a glamorous wedding. One of the easiest and most subtle ways to ensure a bridal style that’s cohesive with the dreamy wedding scene is to consider the details of the dresses you’re looking at. If you want to replicate this look, choose intricate embroidery, 3D appliqués, charming motifs, and sparkly embellishments!

Never underestimate the power of fashion to define an entire mood! The luxurious level of the fabrics, the handmade embellishments, and the graceful silhouette all pointed towards the romantic classicism of the venue the wedding took place and set the tone for a storybook evening. Perhaps a gown without those statement features would have gotten lost in the regality of this scene, rather than being the focal point of it. Hence, always keeping the level of formality in mind!

Priscilla’s Stunning Romantic Dress For Her Destination Wedding in Italy

A masterpiece by brides’ favorite Galia Lahav Priscilla’s choice for her chic nuptials in Tuscany. Galia Lahav has established itself as one of the leading couture fashion houses, with garments characterized by their high-end fabrications, meticulous sewing techniques. The dress a stunning example of milk-white hues that encapsulates the secret garden vibes of the elegant courtyard wedding so well. With a fitted bodice, romantic tulle, and a beautiful train, this dress fits perfectly not only with Priscilla’s extraordinary taste but with the venue’s laidback luxury vibes. She was truly a vision in white walking down the aisle! Got the jitters? Take a look at the complete gallery of this destination wedding in Italy featured on Style Me Pretty!

The intricate applique flowers of the wedding dress and the soft layers of silk highlighted her figure perfectly while giving it a modest yet feminine feel, perfect if you’re getting married in a chapel. Galia Lahav is a great place to start your search – if not for their jaw-dropping Instagram content, then definitely for their fresh off the runway collections including Fancy White and GALA, gravity-defying silhouettes, frosted accents, and head to toe separates created by the designer gods. These dresses are fanciful and wonderful and it’s no wonder so many of our brides choose this designer!

You don’t necessarily need to match your bridal accessories to your engagement ring and wedding band exactly, but this is a good place to start. Priscilla paired her wedding dress, gold band and engagement ring with an intricate flower headpiece with real flowers dipped in gold by Jennifer Behr. On your special day, there is nothing more important than standing out. With a crowning touch of elegance, a headband was just the right accessory to top off Priscilla’s wedding look.

Laila’s Minimalistic Wedding Dress For Her Destination Wedding in Hydra

You know the saying: sometimes, less is more. This rings true even on your wedding day! If you’re currently shopping for your dream wedding dress, you might be feeling the pressure to choose a style with elaborate beading, lace, or other head-to-toe embellishments—it’s your one chance in life to go all out, right? But not so fast. We’re here to tell you that looking amazing doesn’t need to involve glitter, tulle, or crazy ruffles (unless you want it to), because there are plenty of minimalist wedding dresses on the market to choose from. A simple wedding dress puts fit, fabric, and structure at the core of its designs to show off your figure, and the results are stunning, as worn but our stunning and refined bride Laila for her impeccable wedding day in Hydra island, featured on Style Me Pretty.

This curve-hugging gown is so simple but insanely elegant. Simple wedding dresses are great for any time of year. Plus, a minimal gown is easily repurposed across seasons (in case your wedding date or location unexpectedly changes). A simple wedding dress can also be worn for additional celebrations, like a minimony or a sequel ceremony, a destination elopement and even a prewedding party.

A veil with touches of light lace is also very elegant styled with a simple dress and Laila definitely chose the perfect veil to accompany her wedding dress! It framed her face and gave her the just-enough romance she wanted!

Mata’s Romantic Ballerina Wedding Dress For Her Destination Wedding in Crete

Tea-length wedding dresses are a delightful alternative to ball gowns and full-skirt dresses and have a particularly feminine feel to them. They are the perfect choice for the summer months! In general, they are not as smart as some other wedding dress styles, so that it would be great for an outdoor ceremony or a more rustic wedding day, exactly like the one Mata and Phil had on Agreco Farms in Crete. Tea-length wedding dresses are definitely flattering, as the point where they stop allows you to show off a little skin without showing too much. This can be a very feminine choice. You can choose a dress with sleeves or without and embrace a wide range of different styles, from vintage-inspired pieces to something a little more modern. If you want a less traditional dress, look no further than the tea-length wedding dress. This shorter style dress will allow you to stand out from brides that opt for a more traditional, lengthier wedding dress. With a much shorter body, the tea-length wedding dress will allow you to naturally embrace a more vintage style that your guests will never forget. Feeling inspired? Check out the complete gallery of this stunning rustic wedding in Agreco Farms in Crete, featured on Style Me Pretty.

A tea-length dress stops somewhere below the knee and above the ankle and is given this name because it is something that a woman may have worn to tea in the 1920s. It is a fantastic alternative to full-length dresses and can be incredibly flattering for women of all ages and body shapes. Mata opted for an intricate fabric, giving her dress a textured dimension, adding a little drama to the style. Paired with minimal makeup , stunning pearl earrings, and a rustic bridal bouquet it was a summer dream – simply ideal if your wedding day is less formal and laid back! Tea-length wedding dresses make it quite a bit easier to move around throughout your wedding. Whether you have a large wedding reception venue that will have you walking all around greeting guests or you plan on dancing the night away, the shorter dress will allow you to move much easier than you would be able to in a longer-length dress. We simply adored Mata’s choice!

Jess’s Figure-hugging Mermaid Dress for Her Destination Wedding in Spetses

Jess’s stunning wedding dress is an ode to figure-hugging wedding dresses! Her dress was the epitome of sophisticated summer chic with a touch of drama – jusy divine for her destination wedding in Spetses, a stunning location to tie the knot! This mermaid dress was simply perfect for her sunset wedding ceremony. Calling out to all the brides to be, a Mermaid dress tightly hugs the contours of the body from the chest to the knee, or slightly below the knee, then the skirt begins to dramatically flare out down to the hem. Choosing this style means that you’ll have the opportunity to show off those fantastic curves. Keep in mind that mermaid styles show off curves like your favorite pencil skirt. Stunning? A beautiful sweetheart neckline and stunning applique lace flowers made this wedding dress unforgettable! A sweetheart neckline always complements your feminine shape, especially when paired with a fit-and-flare silhouette like Jess’s dress, designed to flatter and accentuate your natural curves.

Stephanie’s amazing Satin Dress for her Destination Wedding in Portugal

If you are looking for the fabric that is the most versatile, durable, and common for wedding dresses, then satin is the one you need to select. If you want a more structured gown, then you need satin which has a smooth finish with a lot of body. Also, did you know that satin wedding dresses are some of the best for photography due to their smooth and high-sheen fabric that looks amazing under any light? Another good reason to go for satin is that it is known to be very smooth. We simply loved Stephanie’s wedding dress, with its minimalist beauty or straightforward design, where the dress is the canvas and the bride is the masterpiece.
