Our conception of Phos Workshop was a way to bring together some of the industry’s finest and create wedding inspiration for our future brides to draw from. A perfect sunny day was all we could ask for on the island of Spetses. A stone throw away from Athens, yet such a cosmopolitan island with lots to offer.
Poseidonion Grand Hotel, the island’s landmark hotel was the perfect spot for our lifestyle photography session. Our ultra-chic groom and elegant bride both prepared in the hotel’s suites. Ambient light was present in all rooms and allowed some creative photography to take place. When it was for the couple’s first look, the neoclassical type of staircase was the perfect location to shoot.
This refined couple played with the light and shadows and timeless imagery was created. The colour palette for this hotel session of the workshop was based on seasonal garden flowers and involved many soft colours like purple, pink, yellow and red all deriving from the flowers themselves. Adding a richness and elegance fit for purpose in this hotel, a black velvet tablecloth was used for the dinner set up. Gold under plates and cutlery complemented a chic yet not overstated atmosphere of this lifestyle photography session.
Grey candlesticks, clear dinner chairs and loose flower compositions made up a very elegant and well-curated ambience without it being heavy or in contrast to the surroundings. The couple had their portrait sessions over sunset in front of the hotel, with the marble entrance making a statement for the newlyweds without having to add more to the scene. An ethereal hand stitched wedding dress, a loose veil and a beautiful head band embellished with little flowers comprised the look of this stylish bride. The groom wore a black tuxedo, in perfect harmony with the colour palette of the wedding and thw two of them made the perfect combination for an eclectic couple’s session.
Of course, this wouldn’t be a typical wedding in Spetses if it wasn’t for a horse carriage! So, we used a carriage to photograph our bride and groom moments after the ceremony. The colours of the sun setting in the sea were remarkable and made a very romantic scenery. We captured the couple in love taking in the moments of their engagement and leaving their own wedding dream in Spetses.
A white horse carriage was the perfect addition to this magical scenery in Spetses. Many different elements to draw inspiration from for your own elegant island wedding. Velvet textures, garden flowers, gold cutlery, clear furniture, astonishing architecture, ambient light and a stylish couple made a creative concept come to life. It took a rigorous eleven months of preparations, many phone calls and logistical planning but the results made it all worth it.
