Dilly and Sergey’s love affair at Ikies hotel, Santorini is one of those made for the movies as the two passed from the same medical school just a few years apart. However, fate had other plans and the two eventually met while working in Boston. Sergey had planned a surprise wedding proposal during a hike but, the plan did not go through. This groom was too excited to wait longer until he popped the question and so the proposal was made on cosy Sunday evening in Dilly’s favourite room in the house, the sunroom.
And there would not be a more suitable place to celebrate their love than the secluded venue at Ikies Hotel in Santorini, of course! Seeing pictures of the iconic Santorini, Dilly and Sergey knew they had to exchange their vows in the most beautiful sunset against the eternal blue. Santorini Glam Weddings planned and styled this wedding in coordination with the couple. Being doctors, they both have a love for minimalism and precision. So, their decoration had to follow their style and spirit. Minimal white and green flower combinations made by Betty Flowers Santorini made this affair more elegant. The palm trees at Ikies Hotel, where the ceremony took place gave some subtle tropical vibes to this celebration and provided a vivid contrast against the all- white wedding.
This was an intimate Santorini wedding with approximately fifty guests, all friends and family that flew from around the world to celebrate Dilly and Sergey’s new beginning. The venue was fit for purpose, as the secluded balcony is located at a privileged location giving out the intimacy and exclusivity vibes the couple wanted for their big day. Cacti and palms embellished the surroundings at Ikies Hotel, while the Santorini white made everything brighter on such a warm day. Dilly’s tailored dress was everything she was as a bride: chic, minimal and very refined. Her wedding party helped her put on the last accessories for her look and she was such a glowing bride! Having her bridal portraits was like photographing art among the rocky elements in Santorini where beauty grows in harsh conditions. Just like that, Dilly stood there like a bloomed flower, wearing her dress and her most authentic smile. We enjoy our work so much when couples allow us to get creative with their sessions and we feel blessed to have worked with so many of you open to our ideas and guidance.
The couple continued their celebration with a photography session after the wedding, in the iconic alleys of the island where pebble stones cover the ground and whitewashed houses make their appearance. Santorini’s landscape creates the perfect background for the most picture perfect and timeless imagery. It is a wedding must! If you are looking for the most exclusive views to the sunset, then Ikies Hotel is the place to be and Santorini Island is a true wedding must!
