Every now and then, we receive those requests from couples that touch as a little more on a personal level. We are, of course, talking about maternity photography sessions in Santorini. This was the case of Debra and Warren who would find themselves in one of our favourite island destinations, Santorini. This sweet couple wanted to celebrate being parents and Debra in her final months of pregnancy.
Creative maternity photography sessions are a great way to capture a very special moment in a woman’s life as well as being parents for the first time. Yiota always finds herself to be well connected with women who are expecting as a mother of two now. She understands what this woman is thinking of, feeling like and yes, craves too!
Debra wanted to celebrate her state of mum to be and what better way than a full photography session in the most romantic island of them all, Santorini. We began in the morning in their hotel, at Canaves Oia with the most breathtaking view to the Aegean. The soft light was a perfect element in our creative session. In addition, who said that maternity sessions could not look stylish? Just look at the elegance of this couple and Debra’s shoes and you will understand what we are talking about here. During these photography sessions, it is very important to help the couple feel at ease in order to capture their sweet intimacy, their love and support to each other in this new life chapter of theirs.
We loved seeing caring Darren looking into Debra’s eyes and silently reassuring her that everything will be fine. This maternity session in Santorini was definitely a very special one. We followed the couple around their stroll in Oia and captured their love story among the island’s blue domes. We loved seeing Debra touching her and communicating with her baby.
Our session ended in Imerovigli for the most amazing sunset one can witness. It was a fantastic closure of the day with the light being in our favor and thus, many magic clicks happening. We were able to create imagery that will pass on to Debra and Warren’s family as an heirloom for their kids and grandkids looking back on and celebrating the love for life.
We are ever so grateful our couples choose us to witness their journey in becoming parents and we have to admit that a maternity session in Santorini is the best gift you can do to yourselves and your future family!
