Jennifer and Alexis’ Athens wedding was beautiful, glamorous, and overly scenic. The Temple of Poseidon provided the background of their stunning destination wedding and we were honored to capture their love in this sightly place. Jennifer looked stunning in her Jenny Packham gown, which incidentally looked quite Grecian with the layers and folds. One of our favorite parts of the day to photograph was their bride and groom portraits after the ceremony, where we explored some vast and rocky terrain near the ocean.
From Stella&Moscha Weddings: “Jennifer and Alexi’s wedding was the ultimate classical Athens experience. The bride resembled a Greek goddess in her ethereal wedding dress, the ceremony was a traditional church wedding and the guests happily enjoyingthe summer Athenian sky. The flowers and décor of the ceremony and the reception were Greek olive branches and white roses that matched the surroundings and gave way to the breathtaking columns of the Temple of Poseidon to shine through and cast its magic spell over the newlyweds.
The day started with preparations in the south Attica, with the groom getting ready at his family home. Guests and family arrived at the church of Agia Marina at the Athenian Riviera while Jennifer and Alexis enjoyed a touching first look by the sea. According to Greek Orthodox tradition, the couple had a person close to them exchange their wedding rings and crowns and then followed them for cocktails and dinner at the Naos Restaurant underneath the Temple of Poseidon overlooking the Athenian sea and enjoying every ray of sunset. The picture was complete with a full Greek band that got people dancing until the early hours and delicious cakes by Pavlov’s lab, celebrating Jennifer’s southern American heritage with a luscious red velvet.”
