We can’t believe it has already been a month since our intense five day photography workshop in Spetses island. Words cannot describe what an honour it has been working along some of the industry’s most talented professionals and collaborating with a dream team of the most supportive vendors we could ever ask for.

We only see fit to dedicate this post to everyone who participated and worked behind the scene to help make this dream of ours a reality. Yiota and I have participated in a lot of workshops ourselves and after years of working experience within the film photography field, we decided to organize our very own workshop in order to share the cumulative knowledge with other like-minded professionals through our eyes.
It took a rigorous 11 month preparation with a lot of late nights working, being constantly on the phone with our co host Justine Milton, to ensure deliverables and most importantly overcoming the challenges faced at an island where there is a strict no car policy in place. The process itself taught us so much about what it takes to put together an educative five day workshop especially as this was our very first attempt. We would like to thank the team of amazing vendors who embraced Phos workshop and helped us in making this a reality. For example, QT albums provided each attendee with their own styling board and we had swag bags daily for each participant. This facilitated the learning process of the workshop to a great extent and we are so thankful to everyone’s contribution.

This has been a great experience for all. We got away with so many beautiful images and great portfolios among the attendees that we can’t wait to share with you! And that is the main reason behind carrying our first workshop: sharing; knowledge, ideas, techniques, experiences and more.
This is why we love film community as well; because it is all about sharing with the aim of becoming better, growing and developing ourselves and our work. Hence, we decided to teach other professionals what we know and share our insight to film photography. We received such positive feedback from our attendees and vendors that we are looking forward to our next workshop scheduled for 2019!

Providing mentoring to new professional photographers and expertise to help them build up on their business or enhance their photography techniques is something Phos workshop inspired us to do as we enjoyed teaching and sharing knowledge so much. Our mentor sessions 1 to 1 are launching soon so be sure to get in touch if you would like to talk business.

For now, have a behind the scenes of what happened at Phos workshop in Spetses and let the light inspire you too.

You can see this magical wedding as published on Magnolia Rouge

Everyone can attest on the multi-faceted landscape one can find Greece. When it comes to destination weddings, we all have this idea of white washed houses against the background of the endless Aegean Sea. However, there is so much more this country has to offer for those who dare to immerse in natural beauty.

That was the case for the wedding of Elena and Yiannis that took place in the middle of an age-old thicket full of platanes in Agios Nikolaos in Northen Greece. Soo Events curated this breathtaking wedding by the river and it was absolutely stunning. We had the opportunity to capture a couple in love, during their special day in the most enchanting scenery we have ever been.

Getting to photograph Elena and Yiannis in the woods, under the shades of the platanes and the calming sounds of the water was one the most challenging things we had done thus far. A wedding set in the midst of a forest, immersing in a completely natural environment calls for high levels of adaptability and flexibility. But, the results have been so rewarding for everyone. Being able to see the pure love and happiness Elena and Yiannis felt on that day is priceless.

Having all your favorite people around you, dancing, laughing and listening to clinging champagne glasses in this luxurious yet traditional wedding was a worthwhile experience that made us overlook any obstacle set forth trying to capture these moments. Being part of such a warm and heartfelt celebration, makes us wonder about all the things this land has to offer. We are islanders at heart but always up to explore new places enjoy every opportunity we are given to photograph authentic wedding festivities.

Keeping a positive attitude and planning ahead is all it takes to be able to take those perfect pictures on the day. We are so glad to have witnessed this wedding, to have seen the real love between Elena and Giannis and their love for mother nature. The greenest green, the everlasting platanes and the fog coming out of the river underneath lots of string lighting made this wedding celebration something straight out of a fairytale.

Have a look and let us know if you can too feel the magic!

We all have an idea of what love is and what it is supposed to look like. That is why when we came across Alex and Marlena for their engagement session in Corfu we knew right there and then that the images would reflect exactly that; real love.

Alexis and Marlena were two of the most carefree and in love people we have had the chance to meet and work with. We strolled around alleys in this majestic island, and photographed them kissing and laughing beneath the bloomed bougainvillea. Marlena’s heartfelt smile came across so intensely that you can really tell by the pictures who much she enjoyed her engagement session in Corfu.

They were so in love and we were so happy to have had the opportunity to capture real feelings against this Venetian backdrop. Corfu is such a cosmopolitan island, full of contradictions, colorful flowers and picturesque balconies that it is always a pleasure to go back there.

We walked across bloomed gardens and photographed these two exchanging glances of love and smiles with their special meaning. The light was magnificent on the day and gave us such wonderful images. We always enjoy having engagement sessions with couples to be, as this really helps us and the couple get more comfortable with each other and the couple to feel at ease in front of the camera. It is like the perfect rehearsal before the wedding day (that was featured on Style Me Pretty here)!

Alexis and Marlena were so authentic in their reactions and expressed themselves so naturally that we could not but have an amazing portfolio depicting real love in the Venetian scenery. And this is only what couples should have in mind when having their engagement session; showing their real love for each other, being natural and enjoying the ride! We are always there to help, give tips and help you relax during the session.

Have a look at this portfolio and share with us what real love is in the comments!

This Santorini engagement session is all you dream and more. Picturesque Oia with views to the endless Aegean and a red beach engagement session that left us in awe.

Nicole and Andrew were an amazing couple we had the chance to photograph in one of our favourite islands, Santorini. Nicole, the creative artist she is herself and Andrew flew all the way from the US to create their own memories in paradise.

Walking through the white washed alleys, we captured the authentic love they have for each other. Engagement sessions make up the perfect opportunity for us to get to know the couple, let them become comfortable in front of the lens and really express themselves.

And so it was for Nicole and Andrew during their engagement session in Santorini across the world’s most renowned landscape. The illuminating sun reflecting on the sea gave us the perfect background to photograph these two.  Our session continued to the red beach where the couple truly felt at ease and really enjoyed their time together! You can definitely tell by the pictures, the heartfelt smiles and the happiness in their eyes. Tipping toes in the sea, walking alongside the shore was the most calming activity for them and we are glad we were there to capture it all! This is how real feelings and real people can be reflected through photography.

Don’t give it a second thought when it comes to arranging your engagement session! It helps develop a trusting relationship with your photographer but most of all it is a great chance for you, as a couple to pause on the wedding whirl and really enjoy the company of each other.

Scroll through these pictures and let us know if you are thinking of having your own engagement session in the comments!

We promise you after looking at this wedding you will be thinking about your own elopement in Santorini!
This Santorini elopement had it all and more; a balcony with majestic views to the endless Aegean Sea at Canaves Oia, an ode to olive incorporated in the wedding bouquet thanks to Betty Flowers Santorini and of course lots of love and meaningful looks from our couple Maria and Kevin.
As wedding photographers, we cherish and value the relationships we build with our couples. Being part of such an important and intimate celebration is such a great honour for us and we take it upon ourselves to create a trustworthy relationship with them as this will most definitely reflect on the wedding pictures. When we met Maria and Kevin we knew right there and then that building up on that photographer – couple relationship would come naturally.

Maria met Kevin at the right place and the right time as she confessed to us in our initial conversation. So, naturally things got the point where Kevin proposed and they wanted to celebrate something so valuable to the two of them; their unconditional love. And what better way to celebrate your elopement than Santorini, right? They travelled all the way from Rhodes Island, NY to the amazing landscape of Santorini where Santorini Glam Weddings had planned their intimate elopement so perfectly to the final detail; and you know how much we love details! And so did Maria!
Working with brides who appreciate our work and evidently look for those candid and detailed shots of their wedding dress or rings is why we do what we do. Plenty of bright sunlight across the room gave us the chance to produce some amazing bridal portraits while Maria was getting ready, just as she had envisioned for her wedding pictures.

Against the whitewashed buildings of Santorini, our bride walked down the aisle beautiful as ever in a total white look blending in so effortlessly with the scenery. Their private dinner was held in one of the best balconies on the island. Overlooking Oia and with views to the Aegean, this was a dinner for two under the Santorini skies. Being among so many people yet alone on the island’s most prestigious spot is a dream for every bride. We will let you wonder off to your elopement in Santorini and your dinner with an unbeatable view.

A lot of our soon- to- be- brides ask us whether it is essential to have an engagement photo-shoot before the wedding. With all the wedding planning in motion, which we know how overwhelming it can be, couples tend to overlook the importance of having their engagement photos taken by their wedding photographer. Are you wondering if it is worth it, too? Here are five reasons why you should not miss out on having your own engagement photo-shoot.

Engagement session on film in Santorini1. You’ll get to know your photographer
One of the major reasons why taking engagement photos is totally worth it, is because you will get to meet your wedding photographer and build a trustworthy rapport with them. On the wedding day, your photographer will be with you for so many hours, so having someone you feel comfortable around is a huge advantage. They’ll take note of how you interact with each other and your individual personalities. These details will help them capture moments on the wedding day that are unique to just the two of you.

2. Practice makes perfect
A lot of couples get anxious in front of a camera and start wondering if their photos will turn out bad or if it is it going to take long. Well, having a professional engagement session before the wedding gives a taste of what to expect on the big day and will help you feel more relaxed on the day. You will have the chance to work on your posing, get more comfortable with the idea of having someone taking pictures of you all the time and focus on just the two of you. Your photographer will give you great tips on posing, will understand your good sides and help you feel at ease while taking pictures of you.

3. Creating collateral to use pre-wedding
You will have professional photographs of you that can be incorporated into anything wedding related. From your wedding website, to your save the date or even your wedding guest book. You can give your parents or grandparents a few copies which they will absolutely love and even have some portraits to hang at your home. Whatever you decide to use them for, the possibilities are endless!

4. You will see finished professional photographs of yourselfers before the wedding
It is very hard for couples to imagine how their own wedding pictures will look like no matter how many galleries and portfolios of their photographer they have gone through. Having your finished professional photos is perhaps the most important reason why you should have your engagement photos taken by your wedding photographer. It will give you the opportunity to see what is to be expected for your wedding day and understand how your wedding photos will actually look like.

5. Combine it with your hair and make-up trial
What better way to put to test your wedding look than having actual professional photos taken on the same day? This will give you the chance to see if you are happy with the look you have decided to go for or if there are any changes you wish to make.

Whatever you choose to do, get creative and have some fun. In the end, you’re the ones who will benefit. Working with your wedding photographer before the big day will help you connect with them, learn how to work your way around a camera and what to expect when the prints come in. Knowing and liking your wedding photographer is significant in the success of your day and will help you focus on the real reason you’re having a wedding in the first place—each other.

We just can’t describe how much we love to photograph intimate celebrations like this elopement in Santorini. Although we are three professionals at the studio, two lead photographers and our associate that makes us a great team for covering big weddings, we have a soft spot for capturing exclusive celebrations, like Alex and Alferdo’s elopement in Santorini. We cannot wait to go back to this amazing island and capture more of what makes intimate elopements really special.

Highschool sweathearts, Alex and Alferdo decided to have their elopement in Santorini on a warm day in May. They had been together for eight years and already felt like married but, they wished to tie the knot properly. It was a lifelong dream to exchange vows against the view of the endless Aegean Sea and stare at the sunset in Oia together. And they did.
Bright sunlight accompanied their day throughout giving us the perfect opportunity to capture some amazing moments for these two. Santorini was still quite at this time of year, so having an intimate ceremony at Sophia Suites seemed fitting. Alex was as beautiful as ever, wearing a custom wedding gown with beaded details in the back and having an orchid in her chic updo. Alferdo was waiting for his bride on a terrace area surrounded by whitewashed houses and the breathtaking views of Santorini.

There were so many intense emotions elicited during their first look and we saw tears of joy as Alferdo handed this splendid flower bouquet by Betty Flowers Santorini to Alex. They stood together in front of their circular arch to exchange vows of infinite love and devotion. Followed by an intimate dinner, organized by Santorini Glam Weddings, their table set up was stylish and full of pastel colors. The pretty in pink wine glasses and the colored candlesticks made up for a very special celebration. They dined and even had their own cake cutting! White anemones and splashes of warm orange and bright peach adorned every floral piece in this wedding. What better way to be reminded that summer was just around the corner?
Alex and Alferdo finished off their intimate celebration watching the sun go down on a white washed terrace with a breathtaking view to the Aegean. Leaning on his shoulder, she whispered: the only dream I ever had was you.

Spring is officially here and what better way to celebrate this than sharing with you an amazing spring dream wedding we photographed in Beirut, Lebanon.

It was truly an honor when a fellow professional asked us to cover her sister’s wedding and we have only the best to say about the warm hospitality we experienced, the authentic smiles we captured and the love we felt everywhere during this celebration.

Purple Heels Events organized a wedding tailored to Iman and Elie’s lifestyle with a special ode to nature and its organic elements. An enchanted garden reception is the perfect way to celebrate your wedding in spring. All shades and textures of green were used to create the centerpieces giving off the organic vibes the couple wanted while being in perfect harmony with the surroundings. To complete the organic feel of the wedding, a lot of wood was incorporated into the tabletop details and furniture along with the colorful floral patterns on the plates that gave a brighter tone to the green setting.

And what can we say about the showstopper wedding gown Iman wore? Hussein Bazaza created a real life nature painting in a custom wedding dress beyond dreams, to much the organic natural theme of the wedding. Against a white canvas, colorful flowers and patterns were embellished with crystal appliques to represent a spring floral dream.

Of course, this organic spring dream would not be complete if it weren’t for the carefully curated and well-thought favors Iman and Elie had arranged for their guests. Personalized tubes with seeds to grow into their own garden and clean cotton scented candles were the sweetest thank you to everyone who was part of their celebrations.

Reminiscing back to this Lebanese wedding, we can’t wait for the next one that will take us there again. Have a look at this spring dream and let us know what you think about organic weddings in the comments below.

Have you ever dreamed of having your engagement pictures taken in one of the world’s most characteristic islands?

Well, Yi and Andrew did and traveled all the way from exotic Malaysia to do just that.

Against the stunning backdrop of the Caldera in Santorini, their profound love for each other made this engagement shooting such a lovely celebration. We wondered around the pebble stoned allies and captured things as they happened. Yi and Andrew were so spontaneous that in an instance they started dancing and swirling in the sound of crushing waves. You can tell by the pictures it was a bit windy, but even so, the couple enjoyed every minute of it. It actually gave the perfect flow to Yi’s frilled long dress! Yi and Andrew posed so effortlessly, proving that real love is indeed picture perfect. And this is what our engagement session was all about; capturing authentic feelings in a real life postcard setting.

Enjoy more of this captivating engagement session with views of the endless Aegean Sea below, and let your minds dream about your next visit to this amazing island!

You can check out this inspirational shoot in Wedding Chicks here!

This styled shoot took place on a moody autumn day, yet, it elicits so much warmth and romance we can’t stop looking at these pictures over and over again! Nasioutzik Museum provided the perfect scenery for this intimate wedding celebration styled brilliantly by Soo Events. Although most of our work takes place during summer, this styled shoot reminded us that Greece can be a wedding destination all year round as long as you have the right combination of colors and textures. What can we say about this luscious pink velvet fabric adding a royal touch to the celebration, or these show stopper emerald earrings? Inspired by bold and bright colors, the floral arrangements by Studio 7 perfectly completed the look of this winter editorial. Baroque patterns, gold accents and pink peppers turned the scenery into the poetic celebration seen on Wedding Chicks.

Scroll through this editorial and get inspired for your next celebration in Greece!

From Soo Events: “This wedding inspiration editorial took place on a crisp November morning, in one of Athens’ most prestigious estates, in Nasioutzik Museum. The cold winter breeze along with this grandiose venue was the perfect scenery for this bright beautiful romantic autumnal setting we were hoping for.

Although the shoot took place at the end of autumn and the beginning of winter, a combination of bright colors was selected, such as a nostalgic dusty pink and a bold, imperial emerald green, with the elegance and seasonality of the velvet fabric, in an effort to avoid the common moodier color palettes that one often sees during this period of the year.

It wasn’t just the combination of colors that touched us, but the velvet fabric that made them look so bright, so rich and poetic. Velvet can be such an inspiration, because of its unusual softness and appearance, its shadow play with its folds and its nobility.

The stationery created was based on the combination of these two colors and was enriched by a lovely floral artwork. The favors were made completely of emerald velvet and tied with a chic knot.”
