Greek history and beauty all in one…

One of the reasons we dream of capturing romantic destination couples is because they don’t fit into one mold. Destination couples often fall victim to wanderlust, desire adventure, history, and the wonders of the world. This enchanting Greek church location from a bridal session from Boheme Workshops, filled with ancient crumbling walls and exhilarating Grecian history no doubt, felt equal parts ethereal and mysterious… the kind of mysterious that our couples love.

GREEK CHURCH WEDDING IDEAS

Here, with the focus on the opulent background, we love the look of simple, foraged materials for a bouquet. Created by the hands of Celsia Floral, this bunch of olive branches maintains balance and brings in nature in a organic way. The Alexandra Grecco long sleeve gown is flawless for those brides who want something more traditional, in a church for example, all the while remaining effortless, unfussy, and elegant. We loved how the sleeves felt traditional, but were sheer, therefore felt modern all at the same time.

Although churches can be on the dark side, they are filled with interesting and meaningful nooks and corners around every turn. Our favorite photographs are the images of the altar, where your imagination allows you to envision all of the other wonderful moments held at that same spot. We loved this shoot at Boheme Workshops as something completely different than outdoor sessions, immersed in nature. As Greece wedding photographers, we’re blessed with a myriad of locations and places that provide endless inspiration like these ancient churches.

This beautiful couple dreamed of a simple and blissful wedding portrait session. Located at Sierra Forest Lake in Greece, we marveled at the myriad of scenes to choose from: lakefront, mountainous, and lush forestry. As Greece wedding photographers, we truly see the entire range of landscapes and this lovely area, smack in the middle of Greece itself, felt magical.

Rather than utilizing distracting styling elements, we decided to go with pieces that reflected the couple’s authentic style. The luxurious chesterfields were juxtaposed against the rugged tree line and the wintry evergreen trees were balanced by the romantic florals by Flower Style.

Perhaps our favorite images are the ones where the sweet bride is gazing into her husband’s eyes. The genuine and raw emotion there is why we do what we do…

Can you believe your eyes at this insane beauty? The setting sun, the embellished Cinobi wedding gown, the fine art aesthetic of the day… all of it speaks directly to our film loving hearts. Meet Alex and Dimitri – two of the most beautiful individuals, wouldn’t you agree? We headed out to an ancient castle on the island of Methoni in Greece with the folks of Boheme Workshops last year and were left completely breathless.

LIKE A MERMAID

Beautiful Alex has her hair swept back, courtesy of brilliant hair and makeup artist Frantzeska Koukoula, and her natural beauty was magnified with a unique plum colored eye. We genuinely cannot put into words how impressed we were with the pale blue, embellished Cinobi gown… this lovely piece was even more impressive in person, if you can imagine that! Combining all of Alex’s bridal elements together, she truly looked like a mythical mermaid of sorts. We can’t leave handsome Dimitri out, though as we were loving his timeless look for a groom. His look was classic and complemented miss Alex perfectly.

Of course we are always all about “the light” and as you can see here… well, this late afternoon was nothing short of perfect. For our future couples who want a destination wedding in Greece, there will certainly be no shortage of expansive, stunning views and magical light.

We have to acknowledge our long-time film lab, Richard Photo Lab, as our scans always come out to perfection. One of the perks of fine art film photography is minimal editing and picturesque, almost painterly, images. Timeless, tangible, and forever beautiful…

“Now at last they were beginning chapter one of the great stories no one on earth has ever read,

which goes on forever; in which every chapter is better than the one before.”

-C.S. Lewis

A quiet afternoon, a ripple or two in the waters, and a beautiful new couple ready to begin their lives together. We absolutely adore engagement sessions for many reasons, but mainly to get to know our couples. There are a myriad of resources for our upcoming brides to read about the specifics of an engagement session like the outfits and where to go, but truthfully the one most important thing to have prepared is yourselves. By opening up and allowing us to capture your true, genuine, and raw emotions for each other will result in the most honest images you can imagine.

SIMPLICITY

By refraining from the use of irrelevant details, we were able to convey the simple affection these two share for one another. We loved that they, too, envisioned more of a simple engagement session.

Here, our bride to be wears a neutral colored skirt with volume that added to the romantic feel. She added a touch of vibrance in the color of her top to play off of the tones of the water. Our handsome groom to be looked as classic as ever in navy and the two appeared to just melt together. These two were a photographer’s dream as they ventured out onto the (slightly muddy) riverbank with us for some epic photos!

Located on the Greek island of Mykonos, the island of wind, we were honored to capture some bridal portraits of Irini and Stamatis, newlyweds who just celebrated their Greece wedding. Featured on the prestigious wedding blog Style Me Pretty, we wanted to go over some of our favorite moments of the day ourselves. Soft, yet blustery winds created movement and the ever so beautiful Greek sun offered the perfect balance of light. While our passion lies in photographing weddings, we have a special place in our hearts for simple couples’ sessions like this.

MYKONOS WEDDINGS

You know those classic stark white buildings? Oh yes, they were beautiful and provided the most stunning backdrop for this couple. Complemented by the deep blue sky and nestled next to the Aegean sea, we found ourselves wandering through Mykonos and working with the breeze, instead of against it. We loved a simple blue and white tablescape, masterfully designed by The Event Company, set up by the ocean for Irini and Stamatis as the remarkable scenery spoke for itself. How the talented folks over at Maria’s Cakes And Cookies designed a cake to mimic the patterns of the wedding china, we’ll never know! We think every Greece wedding should celebrate the traditional elements of this country in some way, big or small!

Irini was dressed in a modern and sleek Pronovias wedding gown that fit her flawlessly. Stamatis looked timeless as well – both were understated, yet wholly classic. Finally, doesn’t beautiful Irini look like a model with her hair in the wind? We thought so, too. In regards to Greek weddings, Mykonos is one of the more beautiful locations and we had an absolutely wonderful time with these two.
